About
Located in the heart of downtown Orleans, a charming New England coastal village, Mahoney’s is a stylish and upscale dining destination. With 33 wines by the glass, fresh local seafood, prime steaks, classic martinis, and fun cocktails, it’s the perfect spot for a special night out or a fun, casual evening with friends. Housed in a historic 19th-century building that once served as a dry goods and penny candy store, Mahoney’s exudes seaside village charm while offering the sophistication of a Boston club. The restaurant’s original tin ceilings and long mahogany bar add to its timeless appeal, while the seasonal bar and patio in the back garden provide a perfect al fresco dining experience. Guests can enjoy refined New England cuisine in a warm, inviting atmosphere that seamlessly blends elegance with comfort.
Chef Ted Mahoney
Ted began his cooking career while still in high school, spending his summers in the kitchen of Captain Higgins (now The Pearl) restaurant in Wellfleet. He attended Norwich University in Vermont, and soon became the kitchen manager of Miguel’s Stowe Away, an authentic Mexican restaurant with an international reputation. He returned to the Cape for a long stint at the Lobster Pot in Provincetown, before heading to the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley to apprentice with Master Chefs in a special program designed for experienced chefs.
“We travel as a family to cape cod every year and each year everyone votes to go back to Mahoney’s at least once before we leave. It is very family-friendly, with great food and exceptional service!” ( Tripadvisor, 2013)
